PISIDIA
Born on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, Pisidia grew up in the East African city of Nairobi, Kenya. With an acute interest for music, he learned to play the piano and guitar at an early age, and was writing his own songs and performing for small audiences by age 10. In high school, Pisidia joined a band (Crisis), which played in several venues in the region, and gave him his first taste of a ‘real’ audience.
After a few years, Pisidia decided to focus more on the production part of the music industry. He got into jingle production, and also recorded and released a well-received short album for his band. In 1995, he relocated to New York, to solidify his knowledge of audio recording, and to pursue a career in the music industry.
Since then, he has worked on numerous projects in various capacities in the audio engineering field, ranging from jingle production and radio commercials, to full album recordings. In parallel, he has also recorded two of his own instrumental albums, one of which he released independently in 2002, called "its Simple".
For the past year, Pisidia has been getting material together for a new album - “Catharsis”. It was initially intended to be a New Age instrumental album, but after incorporating the voices of Lisa Nicole and Graziella, it took on a whole new crossover feel, with rock, pop, dance and R&B elements. Pisidia has also been working on Dance Music projects with DJ Thomas G for several years under the production-team name "Destination X".
